Many experts think that batteries are only as good as their charger. The most
common issue in powered mobility are your batteries. Many customers are
frustrated when their batteries will not charge. There’s a reason for that, in fact
there are several possible reasons for that.
The first thing to do is to inspect the charger plug and make sure you have all the
pins present and there is no apparent damage so that we are certain you’re
The second reason may be that your charger has malfunctioned and is simply not
processing and therefore not sending power to you chair or scooter. As long as
you have experience, you can use a meter to test the output in your charger. If
you have proper power coming off of your charging plug, you’ve confirmed it is
not your charger.
Many of the chargers, on board and off board, use the power that they sense in
your battery to trigger the charging. If your batteries are ‘rock dead’, the charger
does not see them and therefore do not send a charge to them. You will have to
remove the batteries from the chair or scooter and have them put on a bench
charger to see if they are viable.

charge test and assist with batteries for mobility scooters and power wheelchairs.
